Evaluation-Sweding Task/Britney Spears

During this task, we had to produce a music video from the storyboard of the 'Britney Spears' song 'Hit me baby, one more time'. I was allocated as part of crew management, I helped manage and order the different clips.
As we did not follow the storyboard order of the clips when recording, the clapperboard came in very useful because when it came to editing it was much easier to recognise the clips and put it in the original position along the sequence.
Using multiple cameras also benifited us in the task as it allowed us to film the sequence in two camera angles and then range the different clips together when editing to make it look more advanced.
The location in the story board was in a corridor with lockers along the side and as we had a similar location in our college we used this as an advantage. However the limited amount of space, led onto finding it difficult to choreograph the dance routine.
The aspect we found most difficult was developing the storyboard into reality in such a way to make it look like an actual music video. We tried to overcome this by matching the lip syncing to the lyrics as accurately as possible and choreographing the dance routine to fit in with the beats of the song.
It was crucial that we had good crew management in order to produce the storyboard.
During our task our crew had allocated roles such as camera man and being in charge of the clapper board. This helped us alot as everybody knew what to do and ensured everything was going to plan.

Evaluation- Bohemian Rhapsody

In preparation for our music videos, we did a preliminary lip syncing task on the Bohemian Rhapsody. During this we faced many problems mostly was due to having bad confidence as it was our first time doing anything like this. During the editing process we faced more common problems like matching our lip syncing with the lyrics accurately from the song. One of the reasons, why this happened was probably because we weren't familiar with the lyrics from the song. To overcome these problems we recorded the same clip many times and used the one we were more satisfied with.
We've identified that it's compulsory that we will be using some aspect of lip syncing during our music video, therefore to overcome any similar problems during our production we have decided to take precautions such as making sure that our actor have memorized the lyrics beforehand.
